Running out of time...

Ahh  I am running out of time with tons still to do to get my kiddies ready to embark on this new school year!!!  Sent their backpacks to be embroidered, and guess whose backpacks got delayed because of problems with the color I chose??  Yep that would be mine.  Morgan will be heartbroken if she has to go empty-handed to class on Monday, fingers crossed they get it done by tomorrow!!

 Heading out this afternoon to meet the teachers, and leave their school supplies!  They are getting excited now, and are counting down the hours til we go.  I on the other hand keep marking something off my to do list, and adding two more to do's in its place...arg!  I also forgot that I had to get me ready for my return to school for the new semester.  Didn't get my new ID...forgot to get new parking permit..though I did go pay parking ticket from last semester!!  I still need to map out where my classes are, because I have a feeling I am going to be all across campus this semester.

Last days of Summer...

Well,we are officially counting down the days til a new year of school begins.  Honestly can't tell if they are excited or not, one is getting school supplies together, while the other is "ignoring" the school supplies.My teenager is obviously indifferent to the whole thing!! ;)  Morgan is gunho to be a first grader this year, but I think Kaylor is just a tad apprehensive.  We decided after many hours of talk and sitting with his teachers, that it was in his best interest to give third grade another go.  He is smart as a whip, but has a speech problem...he stutters.  This has not delayed his abilities but has hendered his reading a bit.  Now, I dont use the stuttering as a crutch, because I honestly blame some of the problem on stubborn laziness.  He had his moments where he just did not want to do anything..read, math, work..anything.  He is also the baby of his class, and will now actually be with others his own age.  I decided to make this hard decision now, while it is just his education being effected, and not four or five years down the road when it also becomes a social issue.  He is excited to make all new friends, and will hopefully have the same teacher as last year (she was excellent with him)
Well, now that I went off on that tangent, let me get back to the real reason I sat down today.  I have been trying to be some last ditch fun in for the kids, but this heat has really hindered most of it.  When you step out the front door and your breath is literally pulled from your chest, it makes it hard for any activity to last for more than mere minutes.  I did attempt an ocean front park play day...only to pack up three little cherry red cheeked kiddos after a few minutes of play.  Was able to snap some pics, but it ended in a trip to a air conditioned store for frozen yogurt!

 The slides were so hot kids were just running from place to place but not really stopping long enough to enjoy for fear of burning themselves!!!

 Kaylor thought he was superman and Morgan was not so enthusiastic about it!

One crazy morning....

A quick check in till i am able to plant my bootie in front of the computer screen and type away. I am trying to get all the last minute school stuff done before Monday.  Every time i think i am done, boom along comes something else that needs to be done...still need to get last fitting for the oldest's dance uniform, go to meet the teacher day for the two middle kids, finish up their teacher gifts, and packing for one last Summer fun day trip!  Schlitterbahn...will definitely be my undoing!!!  Til later...MAKE THE MOST OF THIS DAY THE LORD HAS BLESSED YOU WITH!!

Held captive by Procrastination!!!

Here we are with the summer almost gone, and I have accomplished....a whole lot of nothing!  I had so many wonderful plans to invest in, and yet always put them on the back burner to do something else..that something else being a whole lot of nothing also!  I know, no excuse!!  My writing, my crafting, my painting...all have been sitting in the corner feeling devastatingly neglected, sneering at my as I pin another craft on pinterest that I am definitely going to do this time..hehe.  I did so well when I wrote out my daily to do lists and gave myself a set time to do them in..yes I am a Virgo!!  I most definitely need to start this again, for I feel as though my mind is congealing into goo from lack of use!!!  I did manage to get Morgan's school bows for the new school year made, one small strike through on my to do list!!!  And I did make my list of things to pick up for their teachers gifts for the first day, yes there is hope for me yet!!!
